I finally made it to Level 2 for my Mecca Beauty Loop and was really excited to try out the goodies in the current quarters discovery box. They have some great items in which I discovered some brand new favourite products. The theme was around getting ready for the upcoming party season and my products were defo items I would use to prepare and wear on the day!
The box contained a hydrating mist, serum, lip product and perfume. If you want to know what I thought, keep reading for my mini review.
Mecca Cosmetica Hydrating Mist $26
I hadn’t tried this before but I’m glad I got the chance to. The mist is a smart hydrating mist designed to counteract e-radiation and pollution, its loaded with anti-ageing amino acids and specialised natural extracts. It also controls bacteria and protects the skin from irritation.
It is very refreshing and also has an amazing mineral fragrance. It leaves a wonderful hydrating layer on the skin which I like to massage in which is almost also moisturising. It gives my skin a nice plumped feel so my makeup looks much better too. I love the packaging and I’m pretty sure I’ll want to purchase this after my sample has finished.
Nars PowerMatte Lip Pigment in Starwomen $38
You all know I love a red lip, so I was really excited to try this lip pigment. You think you have found the perfect formula until you try something new and it just gets better. Firstly, the shade of red is perfect and bold, it would be lovely for all skin tones as it seems like it’s a neutral tone. The formula is really light and pigmented at the same time and you can achieve full coverage in one swipe. It is hydrating and didn’t leave my lips dry or cracked by the end of the day. It also really long lasting with no fading but I did find there was a little transfer when eating certain types of food. My fave thing about the product is the pointy applicator. Its got a precise tip, which allows you to line the lips perfectly without using a brush and I can pretty much get it right in one go or perfect my pout with no mistakes.
A friend of mine is conscious of bold lips, so she gave me her sample so I’m good to go when mine finishes as I have been wearing it a lot recently! These powermatte pigments come in 24 shades.
Malin + Goetz Dark Rum EDP $242.00
I havnt heard of this brand before so it was lovely to try something new. It is a good take on old school sophistication meets contemporary with a deep seductive scent. Its a unisex fragrance which is amazing. Its full bodied blend of leather, rum, vanilla, bergamot and plum makes is mysterious and seductive and I would love if my husband smelt like it! Its got a hefty pricetag and also out of stock online at Mecca. I think for the moment im happy with samples and as much as it smells amazing, not sure if I can justify the spend.
Lancome Advanced Génifique Youth Activator $100
This innovative is created to bring radiance and smoothskin that is noticable. Its targeted at the 10 key signs of youth including texture, elasticity , firmness, wrinkles, radiance and tone. The new complex of the serum also has added biotechnology derived ingredients. The sample was enough for 7 days use to start seeing differences and I was happy with the results. I also loved the way my skin felt immediently after using. It created a really smooth radiant finish which made my makeup sit and look better. Withing the week of using the serum, I could see that my skin looked smoother and more radiant and obviously It wasnt enough time for fine lines and wrinkles to be eliminated. Lancome isnt a brand I'm usually pulled towards trying but this serum may be something I would love to get my hands on in the future.
These products are all available at Mecca Maxima and Mecca Cosmetica.
My favourite of all the items was the Nars Liquid lipstick and I will be checking out what other shades they have. What did you get in your beauty loop box this quarter?
