How cute is the march purple Bellabox?! I hope there is a reason for a pink one soon lol <3
To celebrate International Women's Day ( which fell on 8th March) this special power box came in a limited purple edition with some amazing products from amazing brands. I received 3 makeup products along with 3 skincare products, so Bellabox did good this month! I am loving the range from brands I love, with an edition of a new brand I've not heard of before , so its a great selection to celebrate IWD with.
UV IQ Anti Pollution Facial Sunscreen Milk SPF50+
So this product is from a brand I've not heard of before but its endorsed by the Cancer Council for UV protection. It combines the highest SPF with skincare ingredients that have scientifically been proven to target hydration and protection from pollutions. SPF and looking after the skin from the UV rays is majorly important and I swear by protecting my skin by wearing SPF everyday whether is sunny or not. Its a key way to prevent signs of premature ageing and these days you dont have to apply thick pasty sunblock as the market has so many light products that are amazing for the face. The UVIQ sunscreen literally is light in texture, very runny and milky. This particular one is suitable for normal to oily skin. I loved that it was light and very hydrating, but being an oily skin gal, I did find it a little on the greasy side. So throughout the day my skin felt a tad but more greasy than usual. Its not a thick creamy product but was still hydrating. Not sure If I will purchase this but I think this product will be great for those with normal skin.
The Goat Skincare Soap Bar
I am loving all these soap bar finds that are not causing havoc to my skin. This bar is enriched with fresh Australian goat milk which is ethically farmed and permeate free. The soap is ideal for dry, itchy and sensitive skin as its gentle on the skin and calming leaving you with soft skin. With soap I hate the dry feeling it leaves as its strips away all oils and doesn't leave the skin moisturised. The soap is really creamy and lathered up really well forming lots of bubbles to massage into the skin. Washing away the suds wasn't an easy job as its was so moisturising so took a little effort and I had to be careful not to slip in the shower with the slippery residue it left. But it didnt matter as my skin felt fresh, clean and still moisturised. The only down side for me was the cuboid shape as I prefer rounded edges. Thats just me being picky! lol. I was also surprised that the soap smells nice and nothing as bad as thought it may be when I read 'Goats Milk"!
ModelCo Luxe Creme Long wear lip stick in Amelia
I have come to love ModelCo, an Australian brand and my favourite products is their MoreBrow. I was excited to give the lipstick a go which is creamy but has a matte formula. The shade I was sent is on the brown side with an orangey tint to it, which is going to be perfect for Autumn. The lipstick itself is very pigmented and did last through out most of the day, leaving me with bold statement lips. For it to be more defined on the lips and last even longer I used it with a lip liner of a similar shade. The lipstick does feel a little waxy on the lips but feels comfortable and keeps the lips hydrated.
Model Co EyeLite in St Bartz The Eyelite is a lightweight cream shadow that comes in the form of a tube, with a doe-foot applicator and once applied it dry's fairly quickly to a light barely there feel coverage. I was sent the St Bartz shade, which is a gorgeous neutral pink shade and has a glittery finish. I tried to use this as an all over shade on my lids but I found that as it dried fairly quickly and had a glue like tacky texture upon drying completely, I had to work really quickly to blend. I used my fingers to gently pat and distribute the cream and whilst drying it would actually become really patchy. It was a hit or miss for perfection! If you are happy with a full metallic all over look, without blending this would be great to use and would last all day long, The shade itself was too light for my skin tone to wear this way. However this is also perfect if applying with a brush to the lash line for a metallic glittery finish. NYX Blotting Powder A girl can never have enough blotting powders, especially if you have oily skin! I was sent the Light- medium finish which I thought would be too light in shade and would result in my skin looking grey and cakey. However once I used it , it didn't actually effect the shading of my skin/ makeup. The powder is lightly pigmented, is very fine and left my skin with a satin matte finish, which I prefer. It was great to set my makeup up with, as it didn't become cakey and emphasise my fine lines. The powder case also comes with a mirror and puff which is great for touch ups trough out the day.
Natures Commonscents Paw Paw Body Wash
We were sent the soap bar from this brand a few months ago which I loved, So I was excited to give the body wash a go. It smelt amazing and has a really natural fruitiness to it. However we were only sent a 2.5ml sample and it wasn't enough for one shower so I wasn't able to see how good it was!
Thanks for reading. Next month the Bellabox includes a makeup palettes from NYX and a Lipbalm from Pixi. Exciting!
