Pink Pout Perfection

As much as I love wearing bold funky lip colours, I tend to keep it more low key when I’m at work as I do need to keep it quite professional, so I’ve been turning to pinkie shade quite a bit in the last few months. It’s so easy to apply, maintain and re apply without a mirror which is so convenience. I also feel it gives me a more fresh neutral look when used alongside some other simple products. I also prefer to wear pinky shades during the summer and stick to dark bold colours during autumn/ winter or special occasions during the summer.

I really enjoyed sharing with you all my favourite red lip products a few months ago so in this post I will be sharing my most used pink lip products. Most of these have a matte finishe so I use a hydrating lip balm beforehand to add moister to my lips and will help the product look better on softer lips. I will also try and make sure my lips are exfoliated to create a smoother finish.

Lord and Berry Crayon Lipstick in Intimacy

The crayon is in form of a pencil which has a really creamy formula making the application nice and easy. The shade I use is a little cool toned, but it still looks fine against my skin tone. I love the coverage which is full, matte and stays put for a really long time. It’s not drying on the lips as its creamy and feels very comfortable.

Revlon Stay Matte Balm in Sultry

I’ve been using this forever and can say it’s one of my everyday lip products to use. Its light in texture but very pigmented and it gives the lips a tingling sensation when applied but it lasts a little while. The product is creamy when applied but eventually becomes matte and is comfortable to wear. I also love the other shades in this balm so when in doubt I usually opt for one of these.

Kylie Cosmetics Lip liner in Posie K

This pinky shade in slightly on the mauve side and being a pencil I like the precision it gives. It is a matte formula but not overly drying. It came as a set with the liquid lipstick but I prefer using it on its own, as it gives lovely coverage and lasts all day, without drying out my lip too much.

Mac Lipliner in Soar

I was introduced to this liner a good few years ago when I wanted something neutral / nude for a wedding. I actually mixed this shade with a lipstick to get the colour I wanted, but I also loved using this on its own. For a few years it’s the only colour I wore on a daily basis and still turn to it on days I want a deep pink finish. The liner itself can be a little dry so I use a balm before hand to keep my lips hydrated. Its matte & long lasting and isnt very bright. I also like using this as a base to other pink lipsticks.

Mecca Max Alipster in On Point

This was the first shade in the Alipster lipstick that I bought. Its a lovely pinky coral which great as an everyday colour and very summery. The liquid lipstick is a very light in weight formula which feels like its barely there , its long lasting for sure and doesn't dry out the lips. It has a rectangular shaped applicator which makes lining the lips really easy. It has a matte finish and my lips still feel hydrated all day long and it doesn't budge. You will definitely need to make sure that your lips are buffed and super soft before using this liquid lipstick.

Revlon Ultra HD in Primrose

This lipstick is not matte but more on the glossy moisturising side. Its a lovely pink that I like to make more vibrant by using a liner underneath to add longevity. Sometimes its nice to add a little sheen to the lips which makes my overall makeup look more on the fresh side. Its great just to use with some blush and mascara and let the lips do all the talking! The glossiness doesn't last for a very long time but with the liner underneath, it does keep colour.

Mac Cremesheen Lipstick in Hot Gossip

This is a cool toned lipstick, which is my go to nude. I love pairing this with the soar lipliner to use for special occasions for that glam look. Its great with a dark eye and a subtle contour for evenings out, events or its also perfect with a more natural makeup look just for everyday. I do find that it lasts long and also is hydrating on the lips.

So these are the most used Pinks I have in my collection. On a day I'm not feeling a bold lip or in doubt I turn to these most trusted products to finish off my look. I prefer to wear pinks over a brown/nude tone as I feel the pink gives more of a pop then blending in with my skin colour.
