Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour

January 11, 2018

I decided to treat myself to the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colours, whilst I was browsing in Priceline. It was an impulse buy after I received some good news and I don't regret it at all!

I bought the shade 810 Plum This Show, 500 Fire Starter and 210 Rose & Shine . I recently wore Plum This Show, on a night out in the city recently, where I was eating and drinking and my lips still looked perfect when I got home, so I wanted to share with you guys the new buy. I loved the liquid lipstick so much that I couldn't stop telling my husband all night long how impressed I was but I could tell that he didn't really care so I gave up!

For the application of the liquid lip colour, I prepped my lips by scrubbing them with a sugar scrub and applying some balm before doing the rest of my makeup and left the lip colour to apply last. I blotted away any excess balm and lined my lips with a similar pencil liner. I generally get really nervous when I try to line my lips with a liquid liner and always mess up which then becomes a nightmare to try clean it up, so I prefer to start of with a pencil. Once my lips were lined, I applied the product on to my lips. I did find the applicator a little long, so had to work sideways. I also used a lip brush for some precise defining around the lips to ensure I didn't over line.

The formula is creamy but melts in application making it thinner and easy to spread. It is really pigmented so I found that I didn't need to apply a lot to get colour coverage. The formula also dried really quickly and was so light at times I forgot I was wearing anything. The finish is a velvet matte, It is very comfortable on the lips and I didn't find that my lips became dry or the product to become flaky. I didn't need any touch ups as the product didn't budge and it looked just as good at the end of the night, as it did in the beginning! (I had it on for a total of 6 hours)

When It came to taking it off, I was surprised how easy it was to remove using a makeup remover wipe. It came off effortlessly, despite staying power and It didn't stain my lips either.

There are 15 shades to choose from, the RRP is $14.95 and are available at Chemist Warehouse and Priceline.

Thanks for reading my quick review on my impluse buy!
