"Fenty Beauty was created for everyone: For women of all shades, personalities, attitudes, cultures, and races. I wanted everyone to feel included. That's the real reason i made this line." xx rihanna

I was super excited when I heard Rihanna was bringing out her own beauty brand. Yes I know most celebs have brought out their own makeup lines, but Rihanna has always been my favourite so thats why this has been that bit more exciting for me. Her collection is also named after her actual surname 'Fenty' and concentrates on the complexion which I always have trouble mastering, so another reason to want to check it out.

I am a little late with my review with everyone in the beauty world having their reviews up within the same week or even day of release, but Ive been sick with the cold, better late then never!

The collection consists of products and tools that focus on enhancing and beautifying the skins complexion. The collection consists of 40 shade range foundations , highlighters , concealers and contour sticks. She has all the girls covered! She also has a universal lip luminizer which is a sparkly rose shade and the only lip product of the current collection.

The products are currently available in store at Sephora here in Australia and Harvey Nichols in the UK. The price range is quite reasonable with all items under $79 ( £46). The most expensive item being the Match Stix Trio ( to conceal, contour and highlight).

I got straight onto the Sephora website on launch date and with some website crashing issues at 5pm, I managed to get my order in of The Killawatt Highlighter in Trophy Wife, The Invisimatte Blotting Powder and The Gloss Bomb Lip Luminizer. I also went into Sephora a few days later and to my surprise they were still in full stock of all the products. I got myself a sample of the Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer and my shade of the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Foundation ( I was matched 270). I was also gifted the portable contour and concealer brush a little later on in the week to my delight.

So lets start with the base products. Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer is a really moisturising and hydrating primer which smooths out the skin and preps it for the foundation application. It has a pink hue to it which is to help blur and filter any imperfection and It gives the skin a more plump smooth finish. The product doesn't feel like it has any silicone in it BUT it does . It has several types of the Dimethicone polymer in the product which is a smoothing silicone. Everyone has different views about using silicone based products, and each to their own. When I use silicone based products especially with my skin type, I'd make sure it isnt for too long and have a skin care regime in place. The product is also oil free.

Fenty Beauty has 40 shades of foundation and covers all skin tone bases, So I was really excited as I have always had trouble finding my right shade with the right undertone. In the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation I was matched with shade 270 which comes under the Medium Warm tone range. The foundations do oxidise and deepen in shade once dry, so when getting matched let the foundation dry completely before making a decision.  I find that although I have a warm skin tone I do not like warm yellow tones in foundations and prefer to stick to neutrals tone so I will definitely have to try out shade 260 ( 290 was too dark).

The foundation is really light in texture and is quite runny. I used a real techniques stippling brush to spread onto my face but had to do sections of my face at a time, as it does dry really quickly so you have to work fast. A little of the product also goes a long way so you don't need to much. It gives a soft matte finish which is really light, which I loved. I have always wanted to find a foundation that isn't too creamy or drying and gives a barely there feel. It doesn't cover all blemishes with one layer, so if you really want a flawless finish, the foundation is build able. I prefer just one smooth layer and like to go over blemishes with a concealer so I used my own, once the foundation was completely dry with a beauty blender to avoid any budging. With my oily skin tone, I found that I didn't get too oily during the course of the day and it didn't make the foundation as shiny as my other foundations.

The foundation also comes in 32ml ($50) as opposed to the 30ml that traditional foundations are sold in, so not only does a little product go a long way, you get actually get more for your money.

The Invisimatte Blotting Powder is a universal shade which looks pure white in the pan and without any shimmers. It comes in a pretty white purse looking compact which also has a mirror and a sponge for application. The powder is finely milled so when applied to the skin it didn't  leave a trace or a cakey feel. I did find that after using the foundation you didnt actually need any setting powder ( maybe just in the T zone if you are oily there) to keep it all in place. I did use it over the foundation after applying and just found that it made the finish look too dry, so defo didn't need it. Its great for through out the day to take away some shine.

Great new little accessory to keep in my hand bag!

I'm not much of a lip gloss gal and havent touched the stuff since I was at Uni, but Im slightly bored of lipsticks so I thought I'd give this a go. Im going to start by saying that the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer smells AMAZING like strawberry bubble gum and yes I did have to taste it to see if its tastes just as good! ( no it doesnt lol ) BUT the gloss didn't go all over my tongue and was not sticky which is a huge thumbs up for me. The nude rose shade with minute shimmer particles giving the lips a full look. The shine is out of this world and has a smooth non sticky finish but is slightly on the thick side. The shade didn't enhance my natural lip colour , only made them shiny and look full, so I enjoyed using it with a nude lipliner for the extra definition and some colour to the lips.

Last but not least, the most extravagant item of the collection and also in my makeup collection The Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Trophy Wife . The 12g Yellow based highligher is fully pigmented and has a lot of sparkle. Not something you would wear an on originally day but definitely on a night out! This shade is definitely out of my comfort zone BUT its her IT product from her collection and I find it will have dual use as an eyeshadow as well its main use, highlighting. The goldness of the pigments are very sparkly and you get a real strobe. I used it toned down with another more neutral shade of highlight to be able to create a more golden kiss effect on my skin.

Its also perfect to use as an eyeshadow, especially if your doing a more traditional indian makeup look. Its not a highlight I would wear often but great to have something to add some va va voom in my life!

So thats it guys. These are the five products Ive tried. I don't really contour or Highlight so I didn't feel the need to get the match sticks or the other shimmer sticks/ Highlights but Ive seen these products in store and read many a reviews on these products and everyone is loving them.

If you have a great base and  have nailed your complexion the rest of your makeup will look fab. You will feel confident and it will shine. The whole range is based around the complexion and I think Fenty Beauty has done a great job being able to cater to all skin tones and the the finish of the products are also flawless. I will definitely be purchasing the foundation to add to my ever growing collection for that 'perfect one' and its most likely going to be my go to product with summer round the corner.

Rihanna also announced that her FENTY BEAUTY Holiday Galaxy Collection which includes an array of colours for the eyes and lips will be launching on 13th October!

What did you think of the Fenty Beauty Line? What was your favourite product? I would love to now. Thanks for reading.
