My September Birchbox

I am really loving the drawer style boxes we have received as of late! They are so useful when stacked. Literally have two now and they are becoming extra storage in my makeup section! A little note before I get started!

This months box is themed ‘Heroes’ , with Birchbox celebrating heroic women which includes us subscribers. A lucky winner ( a subscriber) designed this months birchbox. The full Q&A with her can be found at

The September box came with two makeup items which was super exciting for me! We also got to choose which products of two, we wanted from the Australian brand ModelCo.

ModelCo Highlighting Trio

A great trio of creamy pigments which are great for the cooler weather we now have. The shades were sheer but very easy to glide. Its great for all over highlighting giving a great sheen to the skin, with a choice of two shades and a lovely blush shade. The browny shade was too shiny to use as a contour and will defy not show on my skin tone either.

Amika Bombshell Blowout spray

You should all already know how I feel about blow out sprays! I cannot blow out my own hair without looking like I have been electrocuted! I just have way too much hair. Regardless the products smells lovely, its light weight so did not leave a sticky residue, unlike most blowout sprays I've tried.

Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer and Brightener

I really liked this primer. As first I though it will just make me look shiny toward the end of the day, but it was far from that. My make up lasted all day and it did slide off and It was a great way to also add some glow without overpowering shine. This can also be used great if you dont want to use foundation as it did create a smooth canvas to work with. Loved this!

Nuxe Prodigieux Shower Oil

Hmm I have a love and hate relationship with Nuxe product. Some are amazing and some are just blah. The shower oil was of a thick liquid consistency and was not an oil. It was of a sheen finish, but did not leave my skin with a dew or sheen as it said on the packaging. It did however have a rich nourishing feel to it and lathered well. It was heavily fragranced of roses. Overall I dont think I would buy this product.

Polaar Lapland Cream

The cream has become a staple in my hand bag to cream my hands with. Its an all over body cream but its perfect for the hands! Its smells delicious and is really rich and creamy in texture and doesn't leave my skin feeling oily and greasy. It did its job and really hydrated my skin.

Im actually quite pleased with my samples this month! Im using them away and they have still not finished even after a month of using sample sizes. Im looking forward to my October box, when Birchbox will be getting astrological!
