My June Birchbox arrived on my new delivery date and I was really excited. However the products this month didn't really make me ooh and ahh as much as usual. The only thing that was a little exciting was the style of the box, which was a little different and had tropical theme!
The drawer style box made it more simpler to get access to the products, I just perched it on top of my other make up storage near my mirror and pulled the draw each time I wanted something. It will be really great to use as part of my makeup collection or other general storage. It would be amazing if all future boxes came this way!
Lets gets straight to the products!
A great illuminator with so much glow and is far from subtle! The illuminator has a pinky glow finish which I feel is a bit too cool toned for my skin type, but I enjoyed using it mixed it with my foundation to give my skin a dewy glow. A little of this goes a long way and is easier to use. I assume you can save alot more product from the actual brush packaging of the illuminator compared to the mini sample tube which we got. The product is really easy to use as its a light sheer texture which blends easy and you only need a little product to work with.
As first I just though just another moisturiser but when I used it, I wished the sample was bigger!! It smells so lush of tropical infusion, which is great for that summer holiday feeling. The cream is hydrating and melts into the skins. The product claims to Correct, Moisturise and Soothe with the whole combination of products in the cream. The cream definitely brings a boost of radiance to the skin with its bronze shimmer. However throughout the course of the day the shimmer particles do fall away but leaves your skins smelling lush and feeling hydrated.
What a mouth full to say and a cute styled bottle!
I dont really use hair styling products in my hair but do use Hairspray from time to time to hold in any waves or keep fly aways at bay. The worse is when hairsprays make your hair so stiff and crispy. Gross. This hair spray was quite the opposite. It let my hair move around quite freely and still held my hair the way I wanted it.
Pure & Light Organic’s Essential Face Cream is packed with vitamins , omegas 3 and 6 and anti-oxidants. Its a light creamy texture which absorbs into the skin well and is not heavily fragrance free ( It didn't smell of much to me) . My skin felt fresh and hydrated after using the cream, especially as I have been so dehydrated recently. A little more of the sample would have been great!
I did not enjoy this cleanser as all. It smelt weird, its was a gel consistency that lathered up, which strips all oils of my skin leaving it feeling dry. Although it did have little bits in the gel for exfoliation, it didn't really work.
I did enjoy using some of the products after not really being so excited about them to begin with, which was a surprise of new discoveries.
I was able to choose my July box full sample product, from the John Frieda range and we are also promised a LOC lipstick!
