My April Birchbox

My Aprils Blooming Marvellous Birchbox design is gorgeous! Its spring feel design is by the US cult stationery and lifestyle brand Rifle Paper Co. Its super pretty and is the perfect design for the start of spring. They have a variety of pretty items ranging from notebooks to 'to do ' lists. Just up my street! Cant wait to have a good search through their website and put my discount voucher to use.

This months products are a collection of goodies to get started with spring to make you feel bright & beautiful. I have been using my items for a full month now to get a better feel of the products. Some were fab and the others were not so much my thing.

I love the Benefit Dew The Hoola. Ive not used or owned the powder version of this bronzer to compare. Although the shade is very much near my actual skin tone and I cannot use it for an actual bronzing purpose, it gives my skin a dewy, sun-kissed healthy natural look . It is a matte dewy finish with minimal shimmer. It is light, easily bendable and melted onto the skin effortlessly. This will be great for when you want to avoid wearing too much makeup but still want to look like a goddess!

I enjoy wearing black eyeliners throughout the year to make my eyes look deeper, so the Cynthia Rowley Black Eyeliner is a great addition to my current collection. It is of a creamy formula and soft to apply and easily bendable if smudging. It is waterproof so helps with any watery eyes, especially in my case! I do find that it is long lasting. Any different to other branded eyeliners? not really.

London has had some sunny enough days to show of a little skin this month and the Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse dry oil is lovely to apply to the skin for that velvety sheen. It does claim to be hydrating, but I personally feels its not nourishing enough with its dry quality. Just a quick fix but great for that sheen. I used this mostly in my hair to give it that healthy sheen without it making my hair too greasy. This oil is made up of a blend of essential oils and it is heavily fragranced so I avoid using it on my face and use in small quantities. On a separate note this oil also comes in a golden bronze simmer version. It is amazing! I defo use that on my hair, arms and just everywhere!

It is that time of the year where feet prep is essential to get ready to put those sandals on. The Kueshi Foot Care Cream smells typically of a foot cream ( the tea tree oil), it is a light formula and easily absorbs in to the skin. I found that due to the light formula you need a lot to moisturise the whole foot. Its great for a quick cream up in the mornings as its not so rich and creamy and sinks into the skin quickly. I do prefer a richer cream to use at night time so it can do its magic without my feet being in a shoe!

Last but not least, my least favourite product was the Parlor by Jeff Chastain Detangling Leave in Conditioner. This is a repeat sample product too! Although the product smells lush and sprays well on to the hair, I didn't really find that it conditioned my hair. I tried this after shampooing and not using a rinse out conditioner. I felt it dried my hair out more than anything, especially as I have bleach treat hair.

So that's it for this month! My Year subscription is over and I have contemplated on If I should renew for a further few months or not. I've been with Birchbox for 2 and half years now so have thought about looking into some other subscription boxes for variety. But I have not really seen any other boxes which is in the same price range ( including P&P) and have as many products. So I have just renewed for another 6 months! Cant wait for my Lilac Spectrum make-up Sponge!
