What a cold and gloomy month it has been! Reaching very cold temperatures I definitely needed the products I received in this month’s box. Not only a box of new discoveries but each came to use.
Birchbox teamed up with Skinnydip London with this box. I received the teal box design and a £10 voucher. I haven’t used the voucher, the bags are just too quirky for my taste but gorgeous none the less.
With the dry and cold temperatures my hands were kept nourished with the Cowshed Cow Pat Hand Cream. Despite the unusual smell (and name!) this cream worked a treat and was long lasting. It’s the perfect size to pop in to your hand bag and use throughout the day.
I don’t like to use heavy creams on my face but the Delarom Crème Acquaconfort was light in texture, super hydrating and smelt amazing. It contains Aloe Vera extracts, Vit A, C and E. All the substances I usually look out for when I purchase a moisturiser. I want to purchase this off birch box, but it’s such a nice ‘crème’ that they are out of stock!
Due to weather, my skins been much dryer (still as oily as ever though) so facial exfoliation is a big must for me, to get rid of the flaky dead skin. I personally didn’t really enjoy using The Pure & Light Organic Revitalising Facial Exfoliation. I didn’t feel it did much or even felt like I was exfoliating my skin so felt more like a cleanse. I have used many exfoliators in my time and this one just didn’t reach the bar.
It feels like all the products in this month’s box have helped all different aspects of dryness in my life! My Hands, Face and even my Hair. My Hair was saved using Living Proofs No Frizz Nourishing Styling Cream. This by far is my favourite items on this box. I use oil on my hair after most washes, but this cream really tamed any frizziness and kept my locks soft and manageable. The reason I loved it was because it was completely weight & stickiness free! I hate that feeling of obvious product in my hair. I have actually saved the rest to take away with me on my December holiday :-)
I wear lipstick more or less every day and wearing a lip liner that doesn’t quite match the shade can change the whole look. I looked into several other branded neutral liners, so I was super excited when I received the Lord & Berry Silhouette Neutral Lip Liner. This was a great product. It was a waxy consistency, not terrible but actually quite softening. It was white transparent and made it very easy for my lipstick to catch on to my lips once lined. One thing with the neutral liner is that you don't have to worry about being so precise on an everyday natural lip, therefore saves time and your lips last much longer!
To finish off with this month’s box, I can’t really review the L. Erickson Narrow Grab and Go Pony hair band. Its just like any of my other £2 hair band packs! Just another to add to the collection.
I had a look at what everyone else though of this month’s box and most people were disappointed. I actually quite liked what I got as they were useful products, I discovered a new fave that I would like to buy and I now have a lip liner that will most likely last me for months so I don’t actually have to buy it!
I wonder what Birchbox will bring us for the Xmas edition?! I hear we will get clutch bags, perfect for the festive season.
