My October Birchbox

November 7, 2015

October is over and I didn't get a chance to test out the products in time!! But what I can say is that they were all gems.I really enjoyed using all the products and most of them are actually finished. If I had it my way I would make sure that the samples were much bigger, wouldn't you agree??

I got to choose my October box between a combo of 2 boxes, Stylist verses Back to Basics.  This box was put together by Stylists Associate Beauty Editor Joanna McGarry.  I opted for the Stylist box as it had a few items that I wanted to try compared to the other box.

BioDerma

Ok, so I have wanted to buy this forever, but always forgot whenever I have been in Paris. I was looking forward to using this cleanser and I was so glad when it worked its miracles. I enjoy using my current water cleanser, but this is only slighter better as I felt it took my mascara off without a bother. It didn't dry out my skin and was not irritating to my eyes. I have already bought this from Birchbox, as I was sold after using it just the once. The sample was tiny so that was a disappointment.

When Travel Mate Sheet Mask

LOVED this product. I used this after a long gloomy tiring week and it was just what I needed. It was a very wet gel like sheet which I left on my face for half hour. It was refreshing, very moisturising and hydrating. I will definitely be picking some more of these up for a planned long haul flight to a very sunny climate. They will be perfect to bring my skin back to life!

Rituals Shower Gel

After trying the Rituals exfoliating body mask a few months back, I was keen to try out this shower gel. The smell was similar which I loved but without out the tingling sensation. I literally smelt like roses. The gel formula transformed into a mousse foam, which made it easier to apply to the body, which also meant that the product lasted longer. I would definitely consider buying this and the other products in this range.

English Laundry No. 7

My only disappointment of this product was that I was only able to wear it for three occasions. It was the usual small perfume sample, but as it smelt amazing it was finished in a matter of 3 days! The fragrance was fresh but at the same time rich and woody. It was long lasting and still lingers on my coat! The fragrance is very strong and powerful

100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Lip Glaze

This lip glazed which is packed with lots of natural ingredients smelt amazing and fruity. It had a sheer coloured finish on the lips but wasn't very long lasting which I guess is expected with a lip balm glaze consistent product. The packaging is also really cute and small, its perfect to just into your bag and bring back colour and hydration when your out and about.

PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Smoothing Blowout Spray

This was my least enjoyed product of the box. Only because I prefer not to use heavy products in my hair and only like using hair oils. This product left my hair feeling sticky and slightly straw like after the blow dry. I personally prefer the natural feel to my hair so avoid products either way.

As I complete this box, I have already received Novembers box ( shame on me). I promise to have that review out before the end of the month!

Have a good weekend!
