Summer has come and gone at a blink of an eye and Autumn may already be here, but without a doubt, it is my favourite time of the year. I love snuggling in baggy jumpers, drinking lots of tea and a movie day in are my ideal autumn days, but my make up game is what excites me.
The deeper makeup colours can finally be used again. Its not that i dont like summer makeup, but I really dont like the way my makeup never lasts and the colours I like to use, just makes me look over done. Many primers do not work for more than 4 hours in summer and with the combo skin I have its really hard to feel amazing once lunch time hits. Autumn lets my face breath and I love feeling the cooler air on my skin.
I love wearing deep burgundy, Maroon and Browns. With a neutral shade matte base, cheeks contoured with a deep purple based bronzer, winged cat eyes, perfectly arched natural brows and a very deep lip shade, I am good to go!
My foundations look different on my face, through out the year so I stick to the neutral shades for autumn and winter. There is no sun to reflect all the shimmer/ yellow pigments in certain foundations , so you may have noticed you do not get the same effect/ look all the time. The same works for blush and bronzers.
I have done some impulsive shopping and purchased a few items to add to the colder seasons collections. This is the only time of year I can say I wear more makeup, so I do not mind expanding.
I will usually wear:
Dr Brandt Pores no More. This is a Light primer, that absorbs any extra oils and reduces the appliance of pores. I feel that my make up stays matte the longest with this primer, compared to others.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24H This is not the satin finish, so I achieve a matte flawless finish. As I do have combination skin, after a while, my skin does become dewy eitherway, so I want to avoid any extra sparkles.
Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre powder. The powder is loose, so I just dust over my T zones using a duo fibre brush for a light application. This sets nicley and doesnt feel too caky. It is shimmer free too, so I wont look too dewy. I leave dewy for the summer!
L’Oreal Paris Super Line Gel Intenza is my go to eye liner at the moment. Its affordable and a little goes a long well. The gel consistency allows an easy application, it isn’t drying and is long lasting.
Bobbi Brown Brozing Powder in Tawny . This is a purplish shade and I only feel it looks the best during the colder seasons. I use this more or less everyday and no blush. For the summer I opt for brown bronzers as they reflect and look better with the sun.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow wiz, just to fill in any sparse bits. I luckily have quite decent shaped brows, so I just keep them natural. I do not like to define the shape too much so keep a light hand. In the brow wiz, I use the chocolate shade, so I can keep some warmth to my face.
Then the fun begins, the star of each day has to be the lips for me. I can wear the above everyday but the lips will change daily. My favourites are:
Mac Burgundy Lip liner- Just as its called a lovely burgundy shade. I like wearing lipliners on their own, with a little lip balm to soften up the lips.
Mac Matte Studded Kiss- Matte shade, isn't too drying and is a lovely deep reddish brown shade, with a slight purple hint.
Accessorize Infatuated Lipstick (shade 7)- This is such a winner, but sadly I think it has been discontinued. It is one of my long standing favourites. This plum shade is matte and very long lasting. Very cute packaging too.
Mac Diva- Slightly on the deep purple side compared to Studded Kiss, but so similiar.
Gerard Cosmetics 1995 Lipstick- More brown compared to the others, but still a great shade.
Inglot Lip Pencil Crayon in shade 34- More a less a matte lipstick , but sometimes needs a little balm on the top. It nears the brighter side , compared to the others but this is great for when you want a little pop.

I will be mostly be opting for all the above products, because they are my favourites for this time of the year and compliments my skin tone. ( Indian, tanned. I wear NC 42 Mac, but this can still be a bit orange)
What are your must Autumn/ winter products? I would love to know.
