Happy 5th Birthday Birchbox!

August 31, 2015

Birchbox are celebrating their 5th Birthday with a 'build your own' Birchbox at Selfridges. I was really excited when I got my email, knowing I was able to choose what I wanted.

Birchbox are holding their pop up store between the 28th August and 27th September 2015. You can find their store on the ground floor at London’s Selfridges in the Beauty Workshop.

I went on Friday the 28th after work with a friend who has never purchased a box, so she was pretty excited to see why I loved the box so much.

The birchbox is a slimmer version of the original box with ‘Birchbox at Selfridges’ embossed in rose pink on the box, which gives it a little exclusive feel. There were a variety of samples, some of which I have already sampled, so I was only interested in new things to me or any faves. We were able to choose 6 items: 2 from Makeup, 1 each from Skin care, Hair Care, body care and beauty treat. The boxes are £15 each, slightly more than the normal monthly subscription.

It was nice to choose the items for myself and not to be sent something to my profile preference.

The 6 items I chose were:

Benefits The POREfessional : I've tried this before, but I want to try it again to see if its as good as people say it is.

Stila Convertible colour in Lillium: This packaging is literally a mini of the original and so cute!

Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Multi Use Dry Oil: Ive not tried a Nuxe product before, so wanted to try this oil out. I love using oils. This would have been perfect if it was in the shimmer version.

Trilogy Everything Balm: I love trilogy products so this balm which is to condition anywhere dry, is something I need to try.

Philip Kingsley geranium & Neroli Elasticizer: another fellow customer raved about this, so another need to try product.

This Works Deep sleep pillow spray: This was the only item from the beauty treats that was worth giving a try. I also sometimes find it hard to sleep, so why not?!

As I received a newsletter , I got given a sharpener and a cold eye mask. My friend also found it really exciting to choose mini products to give a go and took us ages to figure our what we would like.

Im excited to give these all a try, but all in good time. Unfortunately i wont be reviewing them, but I may mention some favourites in a future post.

I have read that birchbox will be changing up the products mid month. They are also offering 50% off to any newbies on their first box, with the code: SELFRIDGES at the checkout.

Has anyone managed to get to Selfridges? What did you choose and what have you thought? Let me know!

                      Sal x
