My June 2015 Birchbox

June 24, 2015

My box came unexpected a week early which was great. I felt like I had just recieved the May box the week before, so that was a nice surprise.

As I had missed a few boxes before May it felt really good to start receiving these goodies again and to get back on the bandwagon of enjoying the new & unknown products.

The June Box was in collaboration with the 'French Sole' shoe brand.

HIP Ultra Shine Shampoo

This shampoo was very refreshing with a slight tingle to it. The shampoo has peppermint and eucalyptus oils in it, to purify and boost circulation.  I used it on a really greasy hair day and to my suprise I was able to wash my hair in one wash with a normal amount of shampoo. It also lathered really (well which is more of a psycological thing for me) so for me I felt like it was actually shampooing my hair! After just one wash my hair was squeaky clean, which I have nearly been able to get before with just one wash!

Balance Me Super Moisturising Body Wash

This was a lovely body wash which was for me okay. The gel was not too thick or thin and was easy to massage into the skin. It lathered up well too. It apparently has 99% natural ingredients so it did have a natural smell, but for me it was not so pleasant and Im just not able to figure out what the smell is!

Was an Okay so and so product for me and felt did the same as another other Body wash.

Mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon 24Hr Mascara

Ok, so I really loved this mascara! It did not budge all day and it did NOT leave a clump of product all over my lashes. I have a habit of peeling of mascara at the end of the day, but I was not able to do this at all!  It does what is says on the packaging. 24 Hour Mascara!

The brush is a curved brush allowing you to capture product all over the lashes in one go. Normally I'm not fond of curved brushes but this brush was not overally curved and fit my lashes perfectly.

Penhaligon's Iris Prima Eau de Parfum

This was an amazing fresh frangrance.

It was fresh and long lasting and it was a great summery scent which for me when well with the current weather we have had in London. I naturally cannot be satisfied with one or two spritz of perfume, so for me this sample did not last very long. Maybe 2-3 days! Overall it was great.

REN Keep Young and Beautiful Instant Firming Beauty Shot

I love REN products and for me this was another little gem. Although the texture was a little slimly ( gel-Serum formula), it did give my skin a temporary firming plumpier look and feel.

Make up went well on top of it well, once the product had dried up.

The bottle says that it encourages synthesis to firm and remodel skin over time, but obviously with a 9ml sample I would not experience it. This is a maybe to repurchase.

STYLondon Temporary Tattoos

These tattoos were lovely! Although I wouldnt personally wear temp tattoos on my skin, I was able to find an alternative use for these. I used them on my nails on top of dried polish, followed by top coat. It works the same way and also looks really nice.

The foil type tattoos are easy to dampen on to the skin/nails and also can be removed easily, which is a plus. These would be great in the summer especially for all the concerts and festivals.

Junes box was a lovely selection sample but I do personally feel annoyed when I get sent shampoos!

The French Sole edition box also came with a little shoe bag which will come to handy in the holiday months and packing. I was overall satisfied with the selection and this box is gorgeous. I have over the last year and half saved all the designed boxed which I keep and store my products in!

Hope you all are enjoying the sunshine and what feels like the longest summer we have had!

Til next time

Sal x
